Some of you may have heard of the chemical spill that occurred yesterday (July 16th) near L'viv. Apparently there was a phosphorus explosion of some sort about 30 miles east of us. The wind seems to be keeping the fumes away from L'viv itself and thus far, we have not smelled anything unusual in the air. We did stay indoors this afternoon when we became aware of the incident and will continue to limit our time outside for a bit, just in case. The Ukrainian government hasn't been terribly forthcoming about details and due to the history of Chornobyl, we do want to be careful.
Thank you for praying for this situation and please lift up the 20 people who have been hospitalized as a result of this accident.
On a happier note, our new teammates arrived yesterday a bit frazzled from the long journey, but safe and sound.
Bye for now,
Heather
